The Board of Managed Funds Association (MFA), the trade association of the hedge fund industry, unanimously re-elected Eric Vincent, president, Ospraie Management, LLC, as Board Chairman for a one-year term.

Additionally, MFA’s membership elected the following seven new directors for a two-year term: Putnam Coes, COO, Paulson & Co., Inc; Samuel Cole, COO, BlueMountain Capital Management LLC; Mark Horowitz, COO and general counsel, Glenview Capital Management; Scott M. Lawin, managing director, Fortress Investment Group LLC; Jeffrey L. Lomasky, CFO, Cerberus Capital Management L.P.; John G. MacFarlane, III, COO, Tudor Investment Corporation; and Joanne Pace, COO, Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

“MFA’s new directors are poised to tackle a broad range of issues and opportunities for the industry and its investors,” says Vincent. “The recent crisis of confidence in financial markets calls for increased interaction among industry participants and policy makers. The MFA Board is committed to continuing its mission, as the voice of the industry, to foster sound business practices and to ensure investor protection while promoting industry growth.”

MFA’s 17 elected directors also include: Trey Beck, managing director, D.E. Shaw & Co., L.P.; Arthur F. Bell, managing member, Arthur F. Bell, Certified Public Accountants; Michel Brogard, managing partner, Amber Capital Investment Management; Norman Champ, III, general counsel, Chilton Investment Company, LLC; Peter Nussbaum, general counsel, S.A.C. Capital Advisors, LLC; and Jim O’Brien, chief operating officer, Cantillon Capital Management; Sean Simon, co-president, Ivy Asset Management; and Sarah Street, executive vice president and CIO, XL Capital Ltd. Incumbent director, Tracy Wills-Zapata, was re-elected for a second two-year term.

The Board elected the following officers to serve with Mr. Vincent: Coes as MFA Vice Chairman, Bell as MFA Treasurer and Wills-Zapata as MFA Secretary.
