Equinix Hires President of the Americas

Equinix, a data center company, has hired Karl Strohmeyer as president of the Americas, where will be responsible for the management, strategy and growth plan for the company in the region.

Equinix, a data center company, has hired Karl Strohmeyer as president of the Americas, where will be responsible for the management, strategy and growth plan for the company in the region.

Before coming to Equinix, Strohmeyer spent 12 year at Level 3 Communications, where he held several executive positions, including his most recent role as group vice president for the North American enterprise group. Prior to Level 3, Strohmeyer worked at NetRail, where he was first an executive vice president for operations and later an executive vice president for corporate development. Strohmeyer also held various positions with BellSouth such as business development manager and national accounts executive.

“Karl has a proven track record in managing large scale organizations and has experience with both enterprise and service provider markets – important customer segments for Equinix. This experience combined with demonstrated results in driving high-performing sales teams make Karl an ideal fit for leading our business in the Americas,” says Steve Smith, CEO of Equinix.
