Eiger Systems says that its EigerPAY Gatewaysoftware solution for BACSTEL-IP is the first to be approved by BACS for both use with HSM devices and for use by bureau submitters. The announcement means that the transition to secure, unattended, BACS payment submissions is likely to begin.

BACSTEL-IP is the new payment submission platform that replaces the BACSTEL service on 31 December 2005. All organisations that submit Direct Debits and Direct Credits to BACS must migrate to BACSTEL-IP by this deadline.

“BACS approval of EigerPAY Gateway for use both in unattended mode and by bureaux is a tremendous step forward for large organisations planning their migration strategies”, says Callum Johnston, Managing Director of Eiger Systems. “For high volume submitters, Hardware Security Module (HSM) devices provide the opportunity for organisations to introduce a high level of secure automation to their submission procedures.”

For bureau submitters, whether internal or commercial bureaux, EigerPAY Gateway is also the first BACSTEL-IP solution to be approved opening the way for bureaux to begin their software evaluation programs in earnest.

“Given that our products have always been targeted at more sophisticated users, we are delighted that EigerPAY Gateway has achieved first place in the race for HSM and bureau approval”, continues Callum Johnston. “It illustrates the reliability and capability of our solution and confirms that we have a thorough understanding of the needs of organisations with high volumes and complex submission policies.”
