Eiger System has launched a new implementation methodology to speed up the migration process for organizations moving to BACSTEL-IP. Fast-track to BACSTEL-IP enables users to deploy the company’s solution, EigerPAY Gateway in time for the tight end of year deadline.

December 31, 2005, the current BACSTEL system will be switched off and replaced by BACSTEL-IP, BACS’ new payment submission platform. Organizations that have not yet migrated to the new system face an escalating challenge as the time available to migrate shortens and demand for implementation resource increases. Voca, formerly known as BACS, the UK clearing house for all Direct Debit and Direct Credit payments, is encouraging all of its customers to put in place migration plans without delay.

Callum Johnston, managing director at Eiger Systems said, “Organizations face two conflicting pressures: they must meet the deadline to ensure their core business is not disrupted, but in order to realise the full potential of BACSTEL-IP they need to undertake a full assessment and review of their payment requirements, which will take time and resource to implement.'”

Eiger Systems has devised Fast-track to BACSTEL-IP to enable organizations to meet the impending deadline, without compromising the future of their payment systems. Fast-track to BACSTEL-IP allows users to migrate quickly to a standard version of EigerPAY Gateway and implement BACSTEL-IP in a matter of days. As part of the process, organisations are provided with a Migration Pack that guides them through the main stages of migration and helps define the key information required.

The solution’s scalable architecture facilitates a comprehensive configuration at a later date, which allows users to implement more sophisticated payment systems when business objectives and resources allow.

Johnston adds: “Migrating using Fast-track to BACSTEL-IP allows organisations to meet the deadlines and at the same time avoid the resource bottleneck. A rapid initial implementation eliminates the need to compete for external resource with the numerous other migrating organisations.”

Eiger Systems has completed some of the largest Direct Debit and bureau migrations to date and is in a position to commit the necessary resource to migrate those remaining organisations that need to make the transition ahead of the final December cut-off date.
