EFG Private Bank Ltd today announces the appointment of John A Williamson as Chief Executive Officer with effect from May 13. Mr Williamson, 39, is currently Chief Operating Officer of the Coutts Group.
At the same time, EFG Private Bank Ltd announces the appointment of Herschel Post as non-executive Deputy Chairman, with effect from April 22. Mr Post, 62, formerly Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of Coutts & Co, is International Managing Director, Business Development, at Christies International.
“These appointments will significantly strengthen our board and senior management team,” said Sir David Davies, Chairman of EFG Private Bank Ltd. “John comes with many years of experience at Coutts and Herschel’s knowledge of the private banking industry is exceptional. Together they will help us continue to build our position as one of the very few privately-owned private banks in the UK.”
“This is a tremendous opportunity to join an institution with excellent growth prospects,” commented Williamson. “The bank has good people, the right product set and an enviable track record in its investment management offering. It also remains independent, is exclusively focussed on private banking and has considerable financial resources. In today’s turbulent private banking market that should be a recipe for success.”
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to join the bank at this stage in its development,” said Post. “It is poised to make enormous strides under its new leadership.”
