The Korean ECN is to close next month, as the Korea Exchange (KRX) has now indicated that they will not take over the ECN. A final decision is expected on Tuesday. ECN Securities, which started trading in December 2001, has been losing KRW 4.0 billion (US$ 3.8 million) a year. Neither domestic nor foreign investors have made much use of its service.
