EBAday 2008, the annual European payments forum hosted by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra Research, is bringing together influential speakers from the banking, corporate, standards and regulatory community to debate the strategic questions banks must address to prosper in the post Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) landscape.

EBAday 2008 will bring together over 600 delegates from across Europe and 35 exhibitors at the Marina Congress Center in Helsinki from 25-26 June 2008 for a series of panel debates and discussions.

The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is seen as a milestone towards the creation of a competitive and fully-fledged European single market. The agenda looks beyond the compliance requirements of operating under SEPA to address the key business issues banks must address to prosper in the new environment, with a renewed focus on the value for end customers.

Set over two days, the event comprises a series of parallel streams, open panel sessions and a new corporates afternoon, involving key participants in the European payments community, including:

-Werner Steinmller, head of global transaction banking, Deutsche Bank

-Mark Garvin, chairman, JPMorgan Treasury & Securities Services International.-Olli Petteri Lehtinen, executive vice president and head of corporate merchant banking, Nordea Bank Finland.-Harri Nummela, executive vice president, head of banking and investment services, Pohjola Bank.

-Gerard Hartsink, chairman, European Payments Council.

EBAday is complemented by an exhibition showcasing the complete spectrum of payment processing services from leading banks, ACHs, technology vendors, and consultancies including EBA Clearing, Clear2Pay, Logica, Diamis, SWIFT, TietoEnator, and Unisys. EBAday 2008 follows a sold-out exhibition floor and standing room-only seminar sessions at last year’s event.
