Double Alpha Group, a New York-based quantitative alternative investment management firm, today announced the appointment of Robert Chender as President. Charles Zaffuto will remain as CEO.

Chender has more than 15 years experience in the hedge fund industry, having been managing director at The Palladin Group, L.P., an investment management firm specializing in non-merger arbitrage, as well as managing director and chief operating officer at Republic Asset Management Corporation.

“Robert’s business acumen and his ability to develop and execute vision and strategy make him a natural candidate to lead the company,” says Charles Zaffuto, CEO of Double Alpha. “Robert is results-oriented and we look forward to working with him to bring the company to the next level,” continued Zaffuto.

Chender received a B.A. degree from Vassar College and a J.D. degree from New York University.
