Dimitri Vassiliou, Head of Sales and Relationship Management at BNP Paribas Securities Services in Athens, has joined EFG Eurobank Securities Services.

This is a high profile hire for the ambitious Greek bank, and follows the recruitment of Andreas Sotiropoulos, a securities services specialist at HVB, another leading foreign custodian in Greece who also worked for a time at Citibank Greece.

Vassiliou has been at BNP Paribas Securities Services for the past eight years, and will bring to Eurobank a range of sales contacts he acquired during his time at the French bank. “Dimitri Vassiliou will continue to work in Sales and Relationship Management at EFG Eurobank as his experience in that area is tremendous and it can certainly help the Bank in its quest to become the leading Custody player in Greece,” says Andrew Economides, Head of Securities Services at EFG Eurobank. “This addition is another proof of our commitment to the market and of our aggressive approach to outperform the competition.”

Vassiliou says his decision testifies to the quality of the service EFG Eurobank now offers. “During the past couple of years, we have strongly felt the presence of Eurobank in the market and it was clear to me that Eurobank was the Bank to beat in recent quests to get additional clients,” he says. “I am certain that I have moved to the leading provider of Securities Services in Greece and I am eager to join a dynamic team with a proven vision in the market.”
