Deutsche Brse said it has added NAM Holding Ltd., its first Cypriot trading member, to the pan-European trading platform Xetra, reflecting the increasing attractiveness of trading in Russian stocks.
NAM Holding is a subsidiary of ATON Capital, one of the largest Russian investment banks.
As well as engaging in proprietary and client trading, NAM Holding will also act as Designated Sponsor on Xetra for 12 Russian stocks from the Russian RTS-Index. This further increases the attractiveness of trading in Russian stocks, a spokesman for Deutsche Borse said.
The connection of NAM Holding to Xetra represents the latest move on the part of Deutsche Brse Group to further expand its global liquidity network where 700 participants from 20 countries now trade at relatively low cost on the world’s largest stock exchange network. About half of these participants are based outside of Germany, Deutsche Borse said.
At present, more than 10,000 equities, warrants, certificates and exchange-traded funds are traded on Xetra, Deutsche Borse said.
