Deutsche Borse launched Tuesday its new DAXglobal BRIC Index to enhance investor coverage in Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC).

The markets in BRIC countries represent some of the world’s leading emerging investment markets and a large proportion of the world’s population and resources.

The new index includes 10 companies per country and is part of Deutsche Borse’s effort to expand its coverage of international markets.

It will include companies with an average daily trading exchange turnover exceeding EUR 1 million. Weighting of each company will reflect market capitalization, with maximums set at 10% for individual companies and 35% per country.

The DAXglobal BRIC Index has grown nearly 200%, according to historical analysis data from September 2001, with an annual volatility of 22.2%.
