Deutsche Boerse AG said Monday it is in talks to acquire New York-based International Securities Exchange Holdings for $2.8 billion, or about $67.50 a share, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

ISE confirmed that it is in advanced discussions regarding a business combination, and said it would have no further comment until discussions were concluded.

Deutsche Boerse’s board will recommend the transaction to its supervisory board.
