Deutsche Bank has appointed Andrew Cheng regional product head for Agency Securities Lending, Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Cheng is responsible for steering the bank’s agency securities lending (ASL) products and expanding its franchise in Asia Pacific.

Cheng’s appointment comes after the appointment of three ASL sales specialists for the Middle East, Scandinavia and the Americas, with the appointments of Nigel Brill, Stuart Thompson and Guy Moritz respectively. This expansion is driven by both a greater acceptance of third-party lenders as well as demand for Deutsche Bank’s combined custody and securities lending platform, said a press release from the bank.

The Deutsche Bank team achieved the highest total score in the 2013 Global Custodian Securities Lending Survey and achieved “best in class” awards across 50 service categories.
