Deutsche Bank has hired Ruth Berry from quantitative hedge fund GSA Capital to boost its European prime brokerage and capital introduction team.
Berry, who has served over 16 years in the hedge fund industry, joins as a director and second in command for Deutsche Bank’s European capital introduction team.
She reports to Sasha Temple-Jones, Deutsche Bank’s European head of capital introduction and head of hedge fund capital group Europe.
“Ruth is part of Deutsche Bank’s European capital introduction team and the business has strong growth plans. Her appointment demonstrates Deutsche Bank’s commitment to its prime brokerage division,” said Temple-Jones.
Berry was previously a partner and head of investor relations at GSA Capital.
Capital introduction services was the lowest scoring category for Deutsche Bank in Global Custodian’s 2017 Prime Brokerage Survey, with satisfaction levels declining by 43 basis points year-on-year.
