Deutsche Bank announced the appointment of Philippe Vollot as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Vollot replaces Alexander Schuetz, who held the position for the past five years and who in turn has been appointed as international COO for the Banks retail banking arm.
Vollot will be based in Dubai and will report into Ashok Aram, Deutsche Banks Chief Executive Officer for MENA, and Bill Woodley, Global COO for Regional Management.
Aram said Philippes appointment reinforces again Deutsche Banks commitment to the MENA region. His extensive experience will play a central role in supporting the implementation of our strategy that is focused on continued regional growth and the expansion of our suite of products and services.
We thank Alexander for his valuable contribution to our franchise and we wish him success in his new role, he added.
In his new capacity, Vollot will be a member of Deutsche Banks MENA Executive Committee, and will chair the MENA Operating Committee. In addition, he will oversee the Banks infrastructure functions across all businesses and legal entities.
Vollot previously held a number of roles within the Deutsche Bank Group including: Continental Europe Head of Compliance and Head of M&A Legal UK, before his appointment to his previous role as Country COO for France in 2006.
