Credit Suisse has appointed David Livingstone as a Managing Director and Head of European Mergers & Acquisitions. Susan Kilsby, who has led European M&A business since 2002, will become Chairman of European M&A.
Livingstone will be based in London and will report to Marc Granetz, Global Co-Head ofInvestment Banking and Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Marco Mazzucchelli, European Head of Investment Banking. He will be a member of the European Investment Banking Department’s Operating Committee
As Chairman of European M&A, Kilsby will deliver strategic M&A advice to key clients globally. She will also take a leadership role with selected clients, focusing on the consumer products sector in both Europe and the Americas. She will also join the Strategic Advisory Group Europe (SAGE). She will continue as a member of the European Investment Banking Department’s Operating Committee and will report to Granetz and Mazzucchelli.

Livingstone joins Credit Suisse from HSBC, where he was Head of EMEA Investment Banking. Prior to joining HSBC in 2004 Livingstone spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in a variety of senior roles including Head of the pan-European Industrials team from 2001-2004, Head of Asia (ex-Japan) Mergers & Acquisitions from 1998-2001 and Head of Australian Investment Banking from 1996-1998. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Macquarie University in Sydney and an M.A. in Law at Jesus College, Cambridge.
