For the fourth month in a row the number of share trades in Denmark has a record high with share trading increased 57 percent in June compared to last year and up 20 percent from last month.

The activity on the Danish share market continued at a high level in June. The number of trades broke all Danish records with 556,870 trades. Private investors accounted for 19.2 percent, foreign investors accounted for 26.4 percent and the Danish industry accounted for 54.4 percent. The turnover of Danish shares amounted to DKK 213 billion, which was lower than in May where the turnover amounted to DKK 304 billion.

In June, the bond market, too, saw increased activity. Compared to May, the turnover of bonds rose with 11.8 percent amounting to DKK 2,422 billion. The turnover was distributed on 119,991 trades compared to 89,855 in May -an increase of more than 33 percent. Private investors accounted for 17 percent of the total number of bond trades, foreign investors accounted for 4 percent and the industry accounted for 79 percent.

The activity on the market for Danish unit trust certificates was at the same level as in May with 148,969 trades in June. The turnover, however, rose from DKK 31 billion in May to DKK 41 billion in June. The private investors still account for a considerable part of the market for Danish unit trust certificates with 36.7 percent of the total number of trades. The industry accounted for 60.4 percent and foreign investors only accounted for 3 percent of the trades.
