Dalton Strategic Partnership (DSP), the global investment management firm, is entering in to the UK Institutional Pensions market with 130 million of new assets under management.
Funds under management have grown from 500 million in January 2005 to 2 billion as of 24th January 2007. DSP manages the Melchior range of specialist regional equity funds.
“The launch of our UK pensions business is a natural development for us,” says Andrew Dalton, a Managing Partner at DSP and former Vice-Chairman of Mercury Asset Management. “DSP’s investment style is to target high alpha returns by employing experienced managers who construct relatively concentrated portfolios across the full capitalisation range. We believe our investment style is well-suited to UK pension funds where trustees have begun to seek more active managers that can deliver enhanced returns relative to their benchmarks. Driven by the increasing need to review their benchmarks in the light of FRS17, Trustees have become more active in reviewing their choice of managers. We see this as a tremendous opportunity given our managers’ exceptional track records”.
