Custom House, an alternative investment fund services provider, has launched a cloud-based portal, Custom House Gateway, that connects U.S. alternative investment managers with middle- and back-office solutions with the aim of alleviating reporting processes in light of regulatory changes.

“The U.S. hedge fund industry is growing fast globally, adding $150 billion in assets under management in 2013. At the same time, fund managers face unprecedented pressure on costs from regulatory compliance, comprehensive due diligence, and other operational expenses. We have made the strategic decision to expand our operations in the U.S. and Custom House Gateway is a new offering devised for U.S. asset managers of all sizes, but particularly emerging managers who face higher cost to income ratios,” says Mark Hedderman, chief executive officer of Custom House.

The platform allows managers to access data such as daily portfolio reporting, month-end NAV, risk analytics, and FATCA compliance reporting through a single point of entry. Custom House Gateway can also connect to an order management system (OMS) and Financial Information eXchange (FIX). As a web-based system, the portal can also be accessed on tablet devices.

“Technology and infrastructure is a huge burden for today’s fund managers who must demonstrate an institutional quality business during operational due diligence to raise new capital mandates…Gateway is a complete solution that is designed to handle industry complexities, including accommodating multiple prime brokers, multiple asset classes and a broad range of investment strategies and products,” says Scott Price, regional director and head of sales of Custom House in Chicago.
