Upstream Technologies, a provider of technology to fund managers, says Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) has invested in the firm.

Upstream IMS is an investment management system that aims to integrate multiple asset classes – US and international equities, fixed income instruments, ETFs, cash and so on – into a single view that fund managers can review and use to generate orders that ensure portfolios match the firm’s investment style. Upstream IMS also automatically generates portfolio reports and audit trails.

Upstream IMS is used for institutional portfolios, mutual funds and separately managed accounts.

CSFB’s investment will come from its Advanced Execution Services (AES) division, an algorithmic trading operation.

“AES has already partnered with several high-quality order management vendor systems,” says Dan Mathisson, Managing Director at CSFB “Adding connectivity through the investment management piece that Upstream provides is a natural fit. In evaluating Upstream’s technology and speaking with their clients, it quickly became clear that they are thought leaders in their space.”
