Credit Suisse has appointed Sakthi Siva as a managing director, Asia Pacific equity strategist and Global Emerging Markets equity strategist in a move to strengthen the bank’s research franchise.
She will work closely with Credit Suisse’s country and global strategy research teams in order to develop original and value-added research on regional and global emerging market strategy for Credit Suisse’s brokerage clients. She will report to Ali Naqvi, Credit Suisse’s head of Equity Research for non-Japan Asia.
Siva joins from UBS, where she has held senior research positions in Australia and Singapore. She was most recently UBS’ chief Asian strategist, based in Singapore since January 2004. She started her career at Reserve Bank of Australia as a research economist, and has worked for Macquarie Bank and Ord Minnett in Australia in different research roles.
“Sakthi is highly regarded in the market and brings with her 20 years of macro economics and strategy research experience. Her hire underlines our commitment to strengthening our research offering as well as attracting the best talent to work for Credit Suisse despite a challenging market,” says Naqvi.
An Oxford University graduate with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Arts, Siva is expected to assume her role at Credit Suisse in June, and will continue to be based in Singapore.
