BNY Brokerage Inc. today announced that Craig Viani has joined the company as senior vice president and head of its
newly
established Over-the-Counter (OTC) trading desk.
BNY Brokerage is part of BNY Securities Group, which comprises The Bank of New York’s institutional agency brokerage and correspondent clearing businesses.
Viani will oversee BNY Brokerage’s specialized OTC trading desk, which provides execution management with access to every major point of liquidity for OTC issues across multiple electronic communications networks and market makers.
The OTC desk seeks best execution for clients while minimizing market impact for OTC block trades, regardless of order size.
Before joining BNY Brokerage, Viani served as an OTC Specialist for Investment Technology Group Inc., where he managed the firm’s agency OTC active order flow for both portfolio and single stock clients. Prior to that, he worked in trading and operations at Salomon Smith Barney.
Viani, 32, received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
