Hirander Misra, chief operating officer of Chi-X Europe, has stepped down from the role in order to “pursue other interests.”
An email sent out by Misra stated: Effective from Feb. 19, 2010, I have resigned from my role. I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with Chi-X Europe from inception through to the present day where it is now firmly established as a major pan-European trading venue. During that time I have had the pleasure of working with a very talented team and wish the firm all the best for the future.
In December 2009 Chi-X Europe, operator of the largest pan-European equity multilateral trading facility, appointed of Alasdair Haynes as Chief Executive Officer. Haynes was previously CEO of ITG International.
Days prior to Haynes’s appointment, Misra, told the Financial Times he wished to be considered for the CEO role.
Misra was previously senior vice president head of product development and board director for Instinet Chi-X.
Chi-X was unavailable for further comment.
