Computershare Ltd.’s U.S. and Canadian businesses each placed first among large transfer agents in the results of Stockholder Consulting Services’ (SCS) 2005 Transfer Agent Comparison Report.
The 2005 Transfer Agent Comparison included 18 transfer agents — 16 in the U.S. and 2 in Canada. This survey included the highest number of responding companies (1,273) since this particular annual survey began in 1993. The survey reflects issuers’ satisfaction and covers service provided during calendar year 2004, and up to May 2005.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment, which truly demonstrates the value Computershare provides to our clients,” said Steve Rothbloom, President and CEO, Computershare North America. “Winning the TALON (Transfer Agent Leader Overall in North America) Award is an important milestone for Computershare, especially in light of our recent acquisition of EquiServe in the U.S. — also a top performer in this year’s survey, ranking ahead of the two other largest transfer agents in the U.S.”
In the “Overall Satisfaction” category for large U.S. transfer agents, Computershare averaged the highest score, 4.41. In the same category, Computershare Canada ranked ahead (4.00) of the next largest Canadian transfer agent, CIBC Mellon ( 3.91).
