Computershare has acquired Axciom’s Lettershop business for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Munich, Axciom will provide Computershare’s Document Services division with a Europe-based, high-speed laser printing and intelligent mailing service. A Computershare spokesman explains that it “creates another link in the suite of services available to Computershare’s European clients.”

The acquisition is expected to deliver annual revenues of Euros 7 million.

“This is yet another step in strengthening and growing our paper and electronic communication capabilities,” says Computershare CEO Chris Morris. “In this case we have positioned Document Services in a major European region to complement and support Computershare’s service offering in Europe, including its growing Stakeholder Communications and Georgeson’s European businesses.” He added, “Document Services is also now well positioned to support Computershare’s future growth ambitions in this important region.”

The acquisition follows similar purchases by Computershare in Canada (Post-Tech) and Australia, (Post Data in Western Australia and Technology Partners Group in New South Wales) and the acquisition of two HP Indigo press 3050s to enable variable-data colour printing in Bristol in the UK.
