The Bank of New York has been appointed by Comcast Corporation, a cable television provider, to provide cash letter processing services for over 1.5 million monthly payments in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Comcast Corporation services more than 24 million customers nationwide.

The Bank’s cash letter processing service will enable Comcast to deposit cheques in a timely and convenient manner and will provide daily reports detailing the check deposit transactions.

“Comcast will benefit from the Bank’s return-item image file transmission and online image archive services, which will allow it to review information on a same-day basis, greatly improving its ability to respond to exception items,” says Eric D. Kamback, senior vice president and Head of the Global Payment Services Group at The Bank of New York.
