Charles River says that Cohen & Steers – a US manager of income-oriented equity portfolios and specialists in REIT common and preferred stocks, utility common stocks, and preferred securities management with $15 billion under management – has deployed its IMS order management and compliance system.

Charles River says Cohen & Steers’ goals were to strengthen their fixed income trading capabilities, streamline the FIX implementation process, and enhance their compliance capabilities. Charles River IMS has provided the firm with functionality for both equities and fixed income making it possible for the firm to keep both sides of the house on a common platform without sacrificing functionality on either side.

Charles River IMS, an integrated, front and middle office suite for portfolio management (Charles River Manager), order management (Charles River Trader), and real-time compliance (Charles River Compliance).

Charles River says Cohen & Steers selected Charles River IMS because the system was able to accommodate the firm’s existing portfolio management workflow and readily supports their complex broker rules and commission targeting practices.

In addition to strengthening Cohen & Steers’s management, trading, and compliance capabilities, Charles River IMS interfaces with the firm’s Advent Axys accounting system, which helps to eliminate keypunch errors, reduce processing time, and result in faster reporting.
