Brett Williams, Cofunds CEO, says that advisers are the key to restoring confidence in financial services but only if industry players stand in advisers shoes and focus their efforts on making advisers lives easier.
Speaking at a gathering of top investment managers, Williams set out how Cofunds intended to grow its reputation for supporting financial planning professionals by punching its weight on behalf of advisers.
“Cofunds exists to support advisers who deliver financial planning services to their clients day in and day out,” says Williams. “Its that relationship between advisers and clients that will always be our focus. Together with fund groups and other investment partners, we intend to deliver innovations in technology, support and service which enable advisers to help their clients more easily.”
I think our industry often forgets what it is like to be an adviser. And now, more than ever, we need to be there for advisers and help them sustain and grow successful businesses, no matter what their business structure or means of remuneration.
Despite one of the toughest trading environments in living memory, and despite the damage done to the industry as a whole, the reputation of the financial advice professions remains intact. This represents a huge opportunity for us all because consumers need advice more than ever and advisers will be pivotal in restoring consumer faith in our industry. Cofunds is intent on enabling advisers to do precisely that.
