The Chicago Mercantile Exchange reported Thursday a record of 4.3 million contracts traded Thursday in its CME E-mini equity futures complex and 7.7 million on the CME Globex electronic trading platform.
Thursday marked the exchanges fourth largest trading volume for all products in its history with more than 9.7 million contracts traded.
CME E-mini S&P 500 futures trade volume also set a record Thursday with 2,722,320, surpassing the prior record of 1,921,351 contracts set on May 24, 2006
