The Chicago Mercantile Exchange announced Thursday its plan to list futures and options on futures on the Korean Won in cooperation with the Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE). The contracts are expected to begin being traded later this year exclusively on the CME Globex.
The collaboration between MOFE and CME comes as part of a series of CME initiatives targeted toward Asian-based investors, and officials on both sides of the partnership say they expect the union to expand foreign investments in Won-based financial products.
