For 2004, CME Eurodollar futures traded on CME Globex (147,984,759) accounted for 50% of total volume, up from just 5.3% (10,979,003) in 2003, representing an increase of 1,248%.

In December CME Eurodollar futures traded on CME Globex accounted for 71% of total CME Eurodollar futures volume, up from 7.7% in December 2003 and down from 74% in November 2004.

December CME Eurodollar futures on CME Globex totaled 15,532,492, an increase of 1,088% over December 2003 total of 1,307,110 and down 25% from November 2004 total of 20,754,971. Average daily volume in December was 706,022 contracts.

Total CME Eurodollar futures volume reached a record 297,584,038 trades, an increase of 42.5% over total volume of 208,771,164 in 2003. Total CME Eurodollar futures and options volume in 2004 reached a record 428,182,415 contracts, an increase of 38% over 2003 total of 309,594,943 contracts. Volume for CME Eurodollar options and CME Mid-Curve options reached 130,598,377 contacts, an increase of 29.5% over 2003 total of 100,823,779.

December volume of CME Eurodollar futures traded only on CME Globex was 47.7% higher than the preliminary volume of Euronext.liffe Euribor futures of 10,514,817 contracts (ADV of 457,166 contracts).

Total CME Eurodollar futures and options volume in December of 30,710,400 contracts was 2.5 times the Euribor complex volume of 12,394,510 futures and options contracts. As of August 2004, the volume of CME Eurodollar futures traded only on CME Globex usually exceeded the total volume for the Short-Term Interest Rate futures complex on Euronext.liffe.
