The Executives’ Club of Chicago has named Craig S. Donohue, Chief Executive Officer of CME Group and the Club’s Second Vice Chairman, the recipient of its 2009 International Executive of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions to the global business community.

Donohue has served as Chief Executive Officer of CME Group and its predecessor company, CME Holdings Inc. since 2003. During his tenure, Donohue played a leading role in completing more than $20 billion in mergers and acquisitions, including CME’s historic acquisitions of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). Donohue also was instrumental in designing and achieving CME’s demutualization in November 2000 and its initial public offering in December 2002 which made CME the first publicly traded financial exchange in the United States.

Donohue has also contributed significantly to setting the organization’s vision and developing growth strategies to expand CME Group’s core business and new growth opportunities in over-the-counter and emerging markets. He was CME’s lead negotiator for technology and product alliances with the exchanges and financial organizations, including the Singapore Derivatives Exchange Ltd., Standard & Poor’s Corporation and The NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc.
