Close is introducing a range of new technologies to support advisors and enhance client service in the offshore pensions and retirement market place.

These enhancements include a new secure extranet giving both advisors and clients secure online access to their plans, together with a sophisticated electronic workflow system to enhance Close’s ability to process and administer schemes.

Mike Lightfoot, Pensions Director at Close, commented: ‘The online capability will give clients the ability to view their plan in detail and access a wide range of information and data specific to their plan. It also gives advisors a consolidated picture of all their clients’ plans administered by Close.’

Mr Lightfoot further commented, ‘Our workflow capability ensures real time tracking of every QROPS case, together with automated work allocation. Certain elements around fund dealing and reconciliation are also being completed on a fully automated basis, further enhancing our administrative capacity. We are fully committed to servicing the international pension market and investment in technology that enhances the customer and advisor experience is a key part of our strategy and something we believe sets us apart from the competition.’

Close has confirmed that these are just the first steps in a programme of system and administrative enhancements to their pension platform. Other announcements can be expected over the coming months.
