Close Asset Management announces two key appointments: Andrew Gillespie as Marketing Director, who will report to Steven Mendel, Head of UK Wealth Management, and Anita Juneja as Head of Strategic Relationships, who will report to Andrew. Both will be based in Close Asset Management’s head office in London.
Andrew joins from Standard Life, where he was the Managing Director of Marketing in the UK and responsible for the successful active money campaigns. Previously, he was Director of Brand Marketing at Lloyd’s TSB where he was heavily involved in the “For the journey …” campaign and led the negotiations for their sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games. In his new role, Andrew will be responsible for the development and implementation of Close’s marketing strategy and raising the firm’s profile amongst private and institutional investors.
Anita joins from Cofunds, where she was Head of Business Implementation. There she was responsible for embedding platform services into adviser firms, including the transition of a large national IFA who brought in over 0.5 billion in assets within twelve months. At Close, Anita will be responsible for establishing and managing strategic relationships with platforms, wraps and life assurance companies.
Steven Mendel commented: “Both of these appointments attest to Close’s intention of becoming a leading player in the wealth management business over the next few years. Both Andrew and Anita have had incredible success in their previous roles, and we expect that success to be duplicated here at Close. Between them, they possess an extraordinary amount of industry knowledge and experience. I think the skills that they are bringing to Close will help to improve the public’s knowledge of Close Asset Management as an organisation and facilitate the better distribution of our products.”
