Clearstream to run fund custody for Brewin Dolphin

Asset manager Brewin Dolphin has appointed Clearstream to handle its fund custody.

Brewin Dolphin said its decision was made to benefit from improved efficiency and asset safety concerns.

It will use Clearstream’s Vestima platform, which offers automated order placement, DVP settlement and asset servicing.

Dave Berry, Head of Operations at Brewin Dolphin, said: “The decision to use Clearstream was driven by our need to find a provider which not only offers the operational efficiencies we are looking for, but more importantly ensures the greatest safety of our clients’ assets. Vestima’s ability to handle a diverse fund portfolio was a further factor in our decision to work with Clearstream.”

UK asset managers are under increased pressure to ensure their fund processing and asset protection is up to scratch following the introduction of the Retail Distribution Review.
