Clayton Heijman, long the public face of the Fortis Prime Banking group in London and around the world, and one of the most popular figures in the industry, is leaving Fortis Bank after nine years as the executive in charge of developing its business with hedge funds, funds-of-funds and other alternative investors.

Heijman, who worked at Fortis predecessor Mees and Pierson, was based in London for some years. Latterly, he helped Fortis expand its business among financial institutions in The Netherlands. He remains a Council Member for the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).
