ClariFI, providers of a quantitative portfolio management tool, and Numerical Algorithms Group, providers of mathematical, statistical, and data mining components, have formed a software development partnership. It enables ClariFI ModelStation users to select routines from the NAG C Library. ClariFI plans to maintain its thrice-yearly schedule of customer-driven upgrades, incorporating additional NAG routines as required.

“Many of ClariFI’s customers are sophisticated asset managers and other quantitative analysts who are familiar with NAG’s well-deserved reputation for high quality, fast, and robust algorithms,” says Gioel Molinari, ClariFI Chief Technical Officer. “Because our product is in constant development, access to NAG’s library of routines is very attractive since it helps us incorporate new features relatively quickly and speed development time.”

ModelStation is the world’s first platform to integrate factor analysis, trading strategy construction and portfolio risk management with cutting edge optimization techniques. Windows-based ModelStation combines best of breed numerical routines with novel data integration and ease-of-use features for all life cycle stages of quantitative portfolio management-from research to production of investment strategies.

Rob Meyer, NAG CEO, says NAG is pleased to be associated with the ModelStation product from ClariFI. “ClariFI’s ability to combine very high end numerical functionality with ease-of-use and flexibility is a truly significant contribution to the asset management community,” he says.

ClariFI, which is based in Boca Raton, Florida, is a privately held provider to the quantitative fund management industry. CSFB, Deutsche Bank, SDS Capital and Wachovia Securities are among its clients.
