Global Custodian has confirmed that Terry O’Brien, EMEA head of equity lending in Citi’s securities finance division, resigned on Wednesday, February 19.

While it is unknown why O’Brien has resigned, his contract includes a three-month gardening leave, meaning he can not go to another employer during that time.

It is also unknown when and if O’Brien’s position will be filled. O’Brien reported to Gareth Mitchell, global head of securities finance equity trading, who is based in London, so the desk will remain with its top leadership in place.
