Citi snaps up Barclays Asian prime finance head

Citi appointed Angus Yang as head of prime finance for Asia Pacific, according to an internal memo seen by Global Custodian.

Yang joins Citi having previously served as head of prime finance for Barclays in Asia.

He has spent more than half of his career in Japan having worked specifically with global quantitative client bases and delta one product range.

Yang is also a graduate of Richard Ivey Business School of Western Ontario.

Based in Hong Kong, Yang’s new role will see him take responsibility for prime services, equity finance, agency securities lending and Delta One across Asia Pacific including Japan and Australia.

“Angus joins Citi at a time of growth and focus on the Prime Finance business,” commented David Russell and Adam Herrmann in the memo. “We look forward to his helping to further expand our Asian capabilities in prime and bringing the full power of our global offering to hedge fund clients.”
