Citi realigns EMEA custody and fund services management team

Global Custodian understands Citi has reorganised its senior management team for EMEA following a major departure.

Citi has reshuffled the management team of its EMEA global custody and funds services, according to an internal memo seen by Global Custodian.

Long-serving managing director, Rajat Somany, has also revealed his intentions to leave his position as managing director at Citi having initially joined in 2005 following roles at Barclays and UBS.

The EMEA group will be headed up by Pervaiz Panjwani, managing director and global funds services head for EMEA at Citi.

Three new appointments of EMEA country financial services (CFS) roles were also announced.

Rob Ranson will take over as global custody product manager for EMEA assuming responsibility for daily activities of the existing portfolio including existing projects and service delivery. Based in Dublin, Ranson has worked for Citi since 1998.

Eoin Moylan becomes EMEA global custody product manager and will focus on the regulatory governance of EMEA CFS and EMEA Securities Services activities on Citibank Europe (CEP) excluding the fiduciary product. In his second spell at Citi, Moylan has also spent time at JP Morgan, Citco and BNY Mellon.

Andrew Frey will also take over as EMEA CFS business manager assuming responsibility for business management support for EMEA CFS also excluding the fiduciary product. Frey initially joined Citi in January 2012 in Sydney before moving to London in May 2015.

Director for securities and markets and investor services head for the Middle East and Africa Rob Morrison and Kevin Matthews will remain in their current roles.
