Citi has made a number of changes to its senior custody and fund services operations team, including the repositioning of its North American head to oversee global fund admin operations.
According to an internal memo, the appointments also include the addition Anders Akerberg from BlackRock and Rys Thomas from Northern Trust, as global head of asset servicing for custody operations and global head of tax services, respectively.
Akerberg will be responsible for corporate actions, income and client delivery teams, and Thomas will lead Citi’s custody tax operations as well as global oversight.
Both will report to Sam Riley, global head of custody operations, and located in in Dublin and London respectively.
Akerbeg previously served as head of US corporate actions at Citi, and also served 10 years within State Street’s asset servicing business as a relationship manager. Thomas also spent 11 years at Northern Trust in several senior roles within operations.
Meanwhile Jay Martin, Citi’s former North America head of custody and fund services, joins the bank’s securities services and issuer services operations team after being appointed global head of fund administration operations.
He will be responsible for the strategy and leadership of Citi’s fund administration operations globally.
Martin will report directly to Brian Ovaert, global head of securities services and issuer services operations.
