Citi has appointed Patrick Dewilde as Asia Pacific head of Markets and Securities Services, subject to regulatory approval.
In his new role, he will be a member of the Asia Pacific Operating Committee, Executive Committee, and Global Markets Management Committee. He will report to Stephen Bird, Asia Pacific CEO, and Paco Ybarra, global head of Markets and Securities Services.
“With his broad global experience, Patrick is ideally suited to lead the strategic growth of our Markets and Securities Services business in Asia Pacific,” says Bird. “He will also help drive the digitization of our platform as we seek to better deliver the full capabilities of our network and products to clients in the region.”
Dewilde joined Citi in 1983 and was most recently global head of Local Markets Risk Treasury and Markets head for South East Africa, Turkey and Israel. He has also had stints as head Treasury Marketing and Sales in Bahrain, Country Treasurer and head of the Investment Bank in Turkey and the Philippines, head of Currency Trading and Sales in France, Citi Country Officer in Austria, Country Treasurer in Switzerland, Hong Kong and China, Sales and Trading head for the Middle East, and Asian Risk Treasury head.
