Citi has appointed Chris Cox as the head of Securities Services for EMEA, leading both the Investor Services and Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) businesses.

Cox has been with Citi since 1991, most recently serving in Sydney as managing director, co-head of Global Markets.

Now, he will be based in London and be focused on building profitability, growing client penetration and improving organizational efficiency for Securities Services in EMEA. The Investor Services business includes prime finance, futures, OTC clearing, collateral management, custody and fund services.

In his new role, Cox will report to three executives: Okan Pekin, Lee Waite and Leo Arduini.

In addition to his role in Sydney, Cox has previously held roles across the bank, such as leading medium-term note (MTN) trading for APAC and Japan, serving in London as head of International Rate Structuring and MTNs and then relocating to Singapore to maintain those responsibilities, plus adding oversight for G10 rates for APAC. He then moved to Sydney in 2008 as head of Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) and assumed his combined Markets role in 2012.

Citi will announce the new Australian market head at a separate time.
