Citi has hired Mark Ersser within its custody and fund services business to drive the expansion of its European client reporting offering.

Ersser joins the US bank as head of client reporting product for EMEA, where he will help expand Citi’s middle-office solution for asset managers.

He will be based in London and report to Paul Kilcullen, head of custody and fund services, Ireland.

Ersser was most recently head of client reporting at Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) where he led its large-scale reporting platform. Prior to that, he was the head of European client reporting at JP Morgan Asset Management.

“This appointment underscores our commitment to building out a world-class middle-office platform,” said Pervaiz Panjwani, EMEA Head of Custody and Fund Services.

“Enhancing our clients’ experience utilising new technology is a priority for us, and we are fortunate to have Mark join the team. His leadership will be instrumental to the successful delivery of this new reporting solution for our clients.”

The appointment of Ersser is the latest in a string of moves by Citi to upgrade its middle-office platform. In September last year, Citi enhanced its Investment Book of Record (IBOR) data delivery service to support clients operating across multiple trading cycles.

The custodian has been focused on creating a suite of highly automated integrated capabilities that includes trade processing, asset servicing, OTC valuation and collateral a s management services, portfolio accounting, and performance and regulatory reporting.
