Citi has named Alan Pace as global head of Sales and Client Experience.

The new role comes about as Citi pursues a global client focused strategy within Prime Finance and Futures/OTC. An internal memo said: “Everything starts with the delivery of our current and prospective client needs, in terms of service levels, technology, relationship management and data. In order to capture opportunities in a difficult environment where clients are asking us to deliver the combined services of Citi, we will create a unique global client focused strategy going forward.”

In his new role, Pace will focus on creating global consistency within Citi across its various sales and client facing groups. We expect with this focused approach to the delivery of our platform our clients will see the greater coordination and delivery of the many excellent products we have to offer,” said the internal statement.

As managing director of Prime Finance, Pace has pursued a client focused role in the US that has placed him in charge of delivering creative client solutions. As such Prime Finance Sales, including Securities Lending Sales and Prime Brokerage Sales, will report into this role.

Due to Citis Delta One growth plans and its overlap with Prime Finance, Delta One sales heads will have a line into Pace, where he will continue to partner with Mike Pringle to insure the integration of Citis Delta One client efforts.

All aspects of Client Service and Solutions, Transition teams within Prime Finance and Futures, as well as Capital Introductions, Business Advisory, Marketing and Client facing Legal services will report into Pace this role.

In the Americas, David Murphy will assume responsibility for Prime Finance and will relocate to the United States in the New Year.

Murphy joined recently from Deutsche Bank. Citi is looking to fulfil Murphy now vacant role in Asia.
