Citi announced that its Global Transaction Services business, acting through Citibank N.A., has been appointed by Aperam, a Luxembourg based stainless steel producer, as registrar and transfer agent, paying agent and shareholder services agent for its New York Registry Share (NYRS) program. Aperam, a spin-off of ArcelorMittals stainless steel division, trades in the OTC marketplace under the symbol APEMY, with each NYRS representing 1 ordinary share.
Bernard Fontana, CEO of Aperam commented: We are excited at the prospects of Aperam, which, as a stand alone stainless, electrical and specialty steel company, is better positioned to manage its funding and capital needs and create value for our shareholders. We are committed to developing a strong shareholder base in the US and pleased with the appointment of Citi as our agent.”
Dirk Jones, Global Head of Securities and Fund Services Client Sales Management said, The spin off of Aperam from ArcelorMittal is a momentous event for both firms, and we are pleased that Aperam has chosen Citi as registrar and transfer agent for their NYRS program. As a newly-minted company, Aperam will require an agent that can help them raise global visibility and awareness of the new venture with a wide range of investors, and guide them through the investor relations process. Based on Citis experience, we are confident that we can help Aperam successfully navigate these challenges as they seek to grow the company on a global scale.
