CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company says that for the fifth consecutive year it has been ranked Canada’s custodial services provider of choice in its annual Investment Manager Survey. The survey benchmarks the quality of its products and services against those of its Canadian competitors and the majority of the respondents preferred CIBC Mellon.

In the survey 75% of respondents rated CIBC Mellon as their Canadian custodial services provider of choice. Meanwhile, 96% of the respondents would recommend CIBC Mellon to their clients, and 98% of the respondents indicated the overall service quality remained consistent or improved over last year.

Workbench, CIBC Mellon’s real-time online information delivery product, was again singled out as a major strength, receiving a number of positive comments.

Many of the respondents also complimented CIBC Mellon’s staff. “Service and knowledge of all staff levels continues to be excellent – prompt responses to all inquiries,” says one manager.

“This survey is very important to us as it provides feedback from the investment manager community,” says Thomas C. MacMillan, president and CEO of CIBC Mellon. “We are proud to be recognized once again as Canada’s preferred custodial services provider. The skills and dedication of our people combined with our leading edge technology is what sets us apart from the competition in Canada.”

Over 225 investment managers were asked to rate CIBC Mellon’s products and services across eight categories – cash management and trade processing; global asset servicing and reporting; corporate actions, income and proxy; accounting, reporting and reconciliation; Workbench; investment manager relations; new account opening information package and CIBC Mellon’s overall products and service quality. Of the survey responses, 69% were from Canada, 23% were from the U.S., 1% did not indicate their origin; and the balance (7%) was from the rest of the world.
