CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services has promoted Don Lim and Dennis Hervatin to the positions of domestic and international loan traders, respectively. Their brief is to expand the company’s global and domestic securities lending services.

In his new role, Don Lim will support CIBC Mellon’s domestic securities lending service, with a specific focus on domestic equities. He joined CIBC Mellon in 1995, and until recently supervised global equity and fixed income lending in the company’s mid-office operations.

Dennis Hervatin is charged with facilitating trading within the UK time zone, from Toronto. He joined CIBC Mellon in 1998, and since that time has worked in cash management and derivatives clearing. Most recently, he was a project analyst at the company’s client and advisor services group.

“We are very pleased to have promoted Don and Dennis into these new roles,” says Robert Chiuch, executive director, head of GSL trading.

“Don’s industry and operational experience will help us introduce new products and grow our domestic securities lending service, and Dennis’ flexibility and expertise will enable us to serve the trading needs of our international clients.”

CIBC Mellon is a 50-50 joint venture between Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Mellon Financial Corporation. CIBC Mellon’s two operating entities are CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company, a Canadian provider of custody services, and CIBC Mellon Trust Company, a provider of trust services in Canada.
