J.P. Morgan has named Chris Rowland as global head of custody.
Chris Rowland, currently the head of Fund Services, will report to Nick Rudenstine, global head of Custody & Fund Services (CFS).
Rowland will assume his new duties immediately, and his direct reports in Fund Services will now report to Stephanie Miller, global head of Fund Services and Alternative Investment Services (AIS), though Rowland will continue to support Fund Services to ensure an orderly transition over the coming weeks.
Rowland was appointed head global head of Fund Services earlier this year. Prior to that he was global head of Fund Accounting, and before that he had roles leading the program to re-engineer the global custody platform, setting up the securities processing utility, and running product development for CFS.
Rowland replaces Andrew Betts, who has been leading the Custody business for the past 18 months and was previously global head of Supply Chain for Global Trade in Treasury Services. He will be leaving the firm.
Sophie Jellef will become the head of the Prime Custody Solutions Group, and that business will now be part of the Custody & Fund Services Solutions Group, under Rob Ward, head of Solutions for CFS. Jellef has been one of the senior leaders helping to drive the growth of the PCSG business for the past four years.
Devon George-Eghdami, who has been head of the Prime Custody Solutions Group since its launch, and has been running that business, will be taking up another role inside the firm.
