CityCompass says that CheckFree, Information Mosaic and Vermeg have agreed to have their corporate action systems benchmarked to prove their functionality meets the buyers’ requirements and there position as market leaders.

“This is the third year of the B.I.S.S. Benchmarking of Corporate Action systems and we are delighted that these three quality vendors are once again taking part,” says Gary Wright, the Managing Director of CityCompass. “They have already demonstrated in last years benchmarking their systems have leading functionality and the 2005 benchmarking will be the most strenuous yet setting a tough target! The last two years benchmarking has confirmed that there are only a very few vendors that have proven technology in corporate actions and the systems taking part this year will be setting a high standard that others will struggle to meet. CityCompass highlighted in the 2003 benchmarking report that it expected this space to contract and we now believe there is very clear evidence that this is taking place. This year we will be announcing the overall winner in each category based on the user panel scoring system and the conclusions of the analyst”

Gert Raeves, the former Heliograph principal who is now Strategic Marketing Director from CheckFree, says he is looking forward to participating again in the CityCompass BISS benchmark exercise. “Its relevance increases each year as the market for corporate actions automation now offers mature and low-risk solutions such as eVent,” he says. “Buyers attach a lot of value to the independent analysis that is at the centre of the BISS benchmark.”

Information Mosaic CEO John Byrne says that, as a first time participant in the benchmarking exercise in 2004, the company had found it “challenging as well as rewarding, having received Gold Awards in all three categories and winning the overall competition. We thought that the panel was extremely thorough in its review process and demonstrated excellent industry knowledge. The positive results of the event validated the investment we have made in the functional and technical development of our CAMA(tm) solution over a number of years. As the event is recognized as the only international competition for corporate action solutions, we feel that participation is a must for any qualified vendor. We expect the bar will be set even higher this year and look forward to a challenging event.”

Christian Cure, Sales and Marketing Director at Vermeg, says “such a thorough and independent assessment of the CA solutions available in the market is of great help to our prospective clients, making their selection process much easier.”
